Era of Antakshari

Raise your hand if you have played antakshari at least once in your life. ππΌβοΈ
Now raise your hand if you called it boring at some point. ππΌβοΈ
Yeah. That is what we thought.
Here is the thing about antakshari. You did not need to explain it to anyone. No board, no rulebook, no timer, no phone.Β
Someone just started singing and suddenly your nani was in, your chacha was in, your little cousin who does not even know the full lyrics was confidently in. Three generations, zero planning, one game.
And somehow you decided this was boring.
You the same person who goes to concerts and screams every word at the top of your lungs.Β
You with the hour long Bollywood playlist for every possible mood.Β
You who calls it a jamming session now because that sounds better than admitting you just really like antakshari.
Same singing. Same chaos. Better lighting. That is literally all that changed.
And be honest. Every single time the letter M came up, someone was already opening their mouth for "Maiyya Yashoda" before anyone else could even think. Every. Single. Time.
The hypocrisy is actually unreal.
Yes when dadaji pulls out something from 1974 that moves at the speed of a slow internet connection it gets a little hard. Fair.Β
But remember this. Thirty years from now someone is going to hear βYaad Aayenge Yeh Palβ by KK and say it is too slow and too old. And you are going to feel personally attacked.
Because that is exactly what you are doing right now.
Antakshari was never just a game. It was the one thing that made a family gathering actually worth attending. No age limit. No awkward silences. Just music and whoever could remember the next line.
Old is gold. You just forgot that for a minute.
Want to play it with a twist? Mehfil is antakshari but make it interesting. Check it out on our website www.joyjuncture.com
