Think about the best host you know.

Think about the events they’ve organised, the little details they’ve thought of, and how effortlessly they make everyone feel like they belong.

They’re not necessarily the loudest person in the room. They don’t need all eyes on them. Instead, they create an atmosphere where everyone feels comfortable, included, and ready to have a good time.

And when the night is over, guests don’t leave feeling like they owe the host something. They leave feeling richer for having been part of the experience.

That’s why hosting is a great tell of leadership. 

A great leader, much like a great host, doesn’t simply exercise authority. He/ She creates an environment where people feel comfortable participating, contributing, and bringing their best to the table.

Good leadership isn’t about being the centre of attention. It’s about creating a space where everyone else can shine.
